Furthermore, she holds the concurrent positions of Grand Chief Priestess (Daiguuji) and Chief Ritualist (Saishu) at Ise Jingu, placing her at the very pinnacle of the Shinto priesthood in Japan. Despite this, she is far from the stereotypical "boss" figure; she takes the initiative in handling menial tasks—such as purifying the shrine grounds each morning, preparing ritual food offerings, taking out the trash, and even looking after the children of her fellow priests. That said, should she witness any behavior that compromises safety, she will scold the offender with such intensity that it feels as though divine retribution is about to descend upon them. While Kaori is generally gentle in her daily life, she shows no mercy toward acts directed against the gods. In one instance—following an attempted assassination of Kaori, which stemmed from a shooting incident—she confronts a high-ranking member of a political organization (who has since been apprehended). Dressed in her *miko* (shrine maiden) attire, Kaori stages a mock execution: she forces the man to kneel, facing the left side of the frame, and commands him to extend his neck forward.
