The Paradise After God Left

I found a place that seemed like paradise, stretching beautifully as far as the eye could see. Flowers were in bloom, the water was clear, and the trees were lush and green. And yet, only one tree bore anything that could be eaten. Its branches were still heavy with bright red apples. Beneath that tree lay the skeletons of a young man and woman, their hands still joined. From the way they rested together, it was clear that they had loved each other until the end and died in peace. How had the two of them lived in this paradise-like place? And how had they died?
