The Viper's Daughter's Engagement — A Dagger Given by Her Father —

In the 18th year of the Tenbun era, in Mino Province. Kicho, who was about to marry Oda Nobunaga, the fool of Owari, was given a short sword by her father, Saito Dosan. "Kicho, if that fool is truly a fool, stab him with this short sword." At her father's words, Kicho quietly accepted the short sword. Then, a slight smile played on her lips, a defiant grin. "Father... this blade may one day be turned against you, you know?" In her eyes resided a cold, calculating intellect unimaginable for a fifteen-year-old girl. The man feared as the Viper of Mino saw something of himself in his daughter. —The Viper's daughter was, after all, a Viper. *This is a fictional story based on the anecdote concerning the short sword between Saito Dosan and Kicho. Dialogue and character descriptions have been embellished.
