🧝‍♀️ "This is Zapiekanka, a Polish street food!" 🐈 "There's lots of cheese!" *What is Zapiekanka? Simply put, it's a "Polish-style open pizza toast," made by placing toppings on a long baguette cut in half lengthwise and baking it until crispy. In 1970s Poland, meat was heavily taxed, so it seems to have originated from combining readily available ingredients like baguette (French bread), mushrooms, and cheese. This could also be considered a "desperate measure" gourmet dish. It's a food rarely seen in Japan, but you might be able to easily recreate it by adding mushrooms to pizza toast.
