The Big One and the Skinny One

While drawing scenes from everyday student life, these two gradually became regular characters of mine. They originally started out as delinquent-type characters, but that image disappeared fairly early on. I never really decided on proper names or detailed settings for them, so I’ve always just called them “the big one” and “the skinny one.” When other characters are around, they become “the pompadour” and “the shaggy-haired one.” There’s not much love in the way I name them. But I’m very attached to them. Carrying on that slightly Showa-era student vibe, I hope they keep enjoying every ridiculous thing they do with everything they’ve got.
