A Sword of Trust — Wei Yan —

The man to whom Liu Bei, King of Hanzhong, entrusted his sword was a rugged warrior shunned by those around him. What lay behind that choice was neither the bond of sworn brotherhood, nor the counsel of the chancellor whose relationship with Liu Bei was likened to that of fish and water. By his own will, Liu Bei chose the general to whom he would entrust his realm. Wei Yan quietly accepts the trust embodied in that sword. His steadfast loyalty would never waver, neither during Liu Bei’s lifetime nor after his death.
