Hiiragi/Sardine

[Theme] Setsubun A roasted sardine head is attached to a leafy holly branch Holly sardine; Holly sardine Setsubun decorations have the meaning of warding off evil spirits and misfortune. A roasted sardine head is stuck on a leafy holly branch and placed under the eaves of a house. The thorny leaves of holly prevent evil spirits from entering the tree, as they sting, and the sardine head is said to be useful in driving away evil spirits, as they dislike the odor.
