In the Alps, a fierce blizzard rages. A lone traveler, exhausted, takes shelter behind a rock. Beside him, a large, snow-covered St. Bernard snuggles close. St. Bernards, once instrumental in Alpine mountain rescues, with their small brandy barrels around their necks, are still remembered as a symbol of rescue dogs. While the brandy barrel is actually a legendary image, this time, I've based the painting on that old legend, imagining a 19th-century Western oil painting. In the freezing, snow-covered mountains, a single dog clings to the traveler, trying to cling to life. Perhaps that warmth was the greatest salvation of all. 🐾 *Maybe not an emergency? 💦💦
