The door to the quiet bar opened and a cool bell rang. A woman steps into a store filled with soft jazz melodies. She had shoulder-length black hair swaying lightly and was dressed in a calm navy dress. As I sat down at the counter, the bartender approached me with a smile. “Good evening, what would you like to do?” She thought about it and answered quietly. "I'd like a gimlet...a little sweeter, please." As she listens to the rhythmic sound of a cocktail shaker, she stares blankly at the light flickering beyond the glass. When I looked next to the counter, I saw a man drinking quietly by himself. Their eyes met and they exchanged a slight smile. But there is no further conversation. When she took a sip of the gimlet that was brought to her, the moderate sweetness spread in her mouth, and she relaxed her shoulders and breathed a sigh of relief. That night, she took her time to herself and cherished the time passing in the warm atmosphere of the bar.
